MY JOB
is to ensure production and quality, safety in the VLH shop floor area so as to deliver high quality products to meet
customer expectation. I work with the production team, supporting them in
troubleshooting process and equipment issues. As a Production team leader, I
lead a team in setting up and deploying quality robustness systems and process
as a part of continue improvement. I lead by example to demonstrate analytical
skills and precise decision- making in root cause problem solving to minimize
interruptions. "Our goal is to keep our people and environment in which they work safe and healthy".
I JOINED THE OIL AND GAS
INDUDTRY because I was interested in
the state of the art technology that deep-water, oil and gas organizations
deploy to get top results. Working with Halliburton has provided me
opportunities to understand the industry well, as Halliburton constantly
develops innovative leading technologies that move the industry forward, by
integrating extensive ranges of products, systems and solutions to provide
lifecycle reliability and efficiency.
KEY QUALITIES include
a willingness to learn from others, openness to new challenges and a spirit of
“Just Do It” that allows me to excel in whatever work assuaged to me. Many work
related issues and problem-solving techniques are not taught in textbooks. I
learnt them by getting my hands dirty, interacting with people and asking
colleagues. One should never boo too shy to ask-just put on smile.
A CHALLENGE is
managing resources effectively and uniting cross-functional team members behind
a common goal. I need to be able to see the big picture to drive the team and
motivate and engage them towards accomplishing our mission. Team leader also
need to stay competitive with the skills and knowledge vital for thriving in
our highly dynamic environment.
JOB SATISFACTION
comes from seeing innovative ideas become reality. My team and I are encouraged
and empowered to reach for the sky when it comes to continuous improvement in
our domain. My company recognizes and rewards employees based on individual and
team performance. I gain and great deal of satisfaction watching the technician
whom I coached grow in independence and maturity in technical and soft skills.
MY LONG-TERM GOALS are to establish my career with Halliburton in an
innovation-drive environment with opportunities for continual personal
development and to be able contribute value-added services back to the
organization. I also like to take on interesting projects(Safety,CI) and work with people
that I can learn from.
MY VIEW of this oil and gas industry is that 2016 and 2017
will be challenging years due to the drop in oil prices from the rampant supply
and weak global demand. Even so, it is only cyclical and there are still many
opportunities to capitalize on. The need for innovation and listening to our
customer needs will allow us to design our products to be optimally efficient
and set us apart as an innovative and total solution provides for our customers
in the Asia Pacific region. LEAN methodology has been the framework adopted to
achieve the sustainable result in the manufacturing engineering of oil and gas
industry.
